Cosa mangia il vostro cane? Logan è cresciuto con la BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food), ossia cibo crudo biologicamente appropriato. Ha sempre seguito una dieta varia e bilanciata, non è semplice, è un bell’impegno pesare le quantità di ogni pasto, non è piacevolissimo svegliarsi e dargli la trippa verde o creare “simpatici” mix di carne, pesce, verdura e frutta, non è semplice nemmeno tenerlo a bada durante il giorno di detox (eh sì, per non sovraccaricare il fegato ogni tanto deve stare a digiuno)ma è il nostro primo ed unico cane per cui lo trattiamo come un figlio.
Da qualche mese, complice il caldo e l’inappetenza di Logan ci siamo dovuti avventurare alla ricerca di una dieta sostitutiva, aveva bisogno di qualcosa di diverso e così abbiamo scoperto Barkyn, crocchette con ingredienti freschi e genuini. Carne, pesce, frutta e verdura di qualità vanno a comporre una dieta gustosa e bilanciata che viene studiata sul fabbisogno dei nostri cuccioli e sulle loro preferenze.
Non si tratta di crocchette commerciali, si tratta di crocchette gourmet, personalizzate al 100%, si ordinano on line e arrivano comodamente a casa – le spese di spedizione sono gratuite- all’interno di una pratica box, a Logan piace anche quella e credo che sappia leggere, perché adora anche la confezione con su scritto il suo nome 😛
Il nostro cucciolo è un cane viziato, questo va detto, noi cerchiamo di accontentarlo in tutto e per tutto un po’ come si fa con i bambini: cibo, giochi, amici, viaggi, tutto è studiato in sua funzione, in fondo per noi è come un figlio e la sua felicità è la nostra.
E’ un alaskan malamute, un bel caratterino, tende ad impuntarsi e ad essere piuttosto selettivo. Le crocchette in generale non gli piacciono, le annusa e se ne va, stessa cosa per i premietti in commercio, ma delle crocchette e degli snack di Barkyn ne è ghiotto.
Per noi è stato un po’ un test, faceva i capricci con la Barf, lasciava la ciotola piena ed eravamo costretti a buttare tutto. Non è stato semplice trovare un pasto in grado di soddisfare lui e accontentare anche noi in termini di fiducia e qualità.
Con Barkyn è stato amore al primo assaggio. Logan ama il salmone, ne è ghiotto e quando abbiamo compilato la sua scheda oltre alle generalità abbiamo dovuto specificare anche preferenza per carne o pesce, grain o grain free. Crocchette, snack e umido consigliati per Logan sono tutti a base di pesce… E guardate che cane felice 🙂
Di seguito vi lascio la composizione delle sue crocchette grain free:
- 27% Proteine
- 17% Grassi
- 3.5% Fibre
65% di pesce, salmone fresco incluso – che Logan ama + condroprotettori per articolazioni più forti.
L’amore e la passione con cui questo marchio segue i propri cuccioli mi ha spiazzato. Per qualsiasi cosa c’è un veterinario pronto ad aiutarci e poi quante sorprese, ad esempio i giochini studiati per i cuccioli, Logan è innamorato della sua golosa Donut (suona ed è indistruttibile!), senza contare che sui social ci sono sempre iniziative bellissime pensate per i nostri amici a 4 zampe…come l’e-book con le ricette gourmet per i cani, ricette elaborate da Valeria Raciti, vincitrice di Masterchef ed approvate dai veterinari di Barkyn.
Noi noi potevamo che provare il salmone croccante con gli snack Salmon Crisps (i preferiti di Logan),riso basmati, pesche e piselli.
