Un nome insolito, un nome importante…Carpe Diem mi fa pensare a tutto tranne che al cibo, eppure c’è un’attinenza, c’è un legame, perché quando ci si trova davanti ad una maxi pizza della pizzeria Carpe Diem, ci si sente in dovere di svuotare il piatto, di cogliere l’attimo, il sapore e la bontà…perché quel gusto ti conquista e nella notte lo spicchietto di pizza lasciato, rischia di trasformarsi in rimpianto!
Esagerazione? No no pura realtà…e ve lo dice una che al quarto spicchio di pizza era già pienamente sazia e soddisfatta. Anche questa pizzeria, scoperta vagando nel web ha superato la prova del 9, anzi diciamo che ha superato ogni aspettativa. Il locale, che si trova in zona Bufalotta, nei pressi del centro commerciale Porta di Roma, è una perla di periferia, una pizzeria spaziosa, luminosa, gestita da un personale simpatico e in gamba, con il forno a legna a vista e un bancone dei dolci incredibile.

Appena accomodati il mio ragazzo, avvista una portata curiosa: un piatto di fritti, cosparso di filetti di zucchine pastellate…
Andiamo a colpo sicuro e iniziamo ad ordinare:
-Una porzione di fritti misti 6 Euro
-Una maxi pizza con 4 gusti diversi 17 Euro
-Birra alla spina Weiss 0,50 ml 5,50 Euro
-Acqua naturale 2 Euro
-Amaro Jagermaister 2,50 Euro
Totale 33 Euro (sorprendente anche il prezzo!)
Una chele di granchio, un supplì strepitoso, una crocchetta, un’oliva ascolana, una ricottina fritta, una mozzarellina fritta e una spolverata di zucchine pastellate, che ci hanno fatto impazzire…Se siete in grado di dividere equamente la porzione di fritti misti, vi assicuro che una in due basta e avanza, soprattutto se avete cattive intenzione, proprio come le abbiamo avute noi. Potevamo lasciarci sfuggire l’opportunità di provare la maxi pizza?

Ovviamente no e così senza troppe titubanze ci siamo buttati a capofitto, nella scelta dei 4 gusti. Nel menù c’è l’imbarazzo della scelta, ma come ormai sapete bene, noi puntiamo sempre alla pesantezza e anche questa volta, non ci siamo fatti parlare dietro: Esagerata, Piovra, Campagnola e 4 stagioni…Che ve lo dico a fare, una botta di vita! Appena arrivata la pizza gigante, io mi sono spaventata, ho guardato il mio amato negli occhi e “ti prego pensaci tu, io non riesco a gestirla!”. Come un vero super eroe, con un sorriso beffardo esclama: “Ci penso io!” e detto fatto, anche questa volta si è sacrificato per la patria (e che sacrificio!).

La pizza era carica di condimento, ma la base era sottile, leggera, favolosa…16 tranci (4 per tipo), già comodamente divisi, pronti per essere degustati. Io dopo aver assaggiato i 4 differenti gusti ho alzato bandiera bianca, ero piacevolmente soddisfatta, un sapore più buono dell’altro, devo dire però, che la Campagnola,con tanto di cicoria ripassata in padella, aveva il suo perché.

Finita la maxi pizza, l’intenzione del “ci prendiamo il dolce!”, passa in secondo piano…e viene sostituita dall’idea dell’amaro! “Che peccato però..i dolci mi ispiravano proprio”. Ed ecco allora la promessa: “ci torneremo!”

E’ sì che ci torneremo, e la consiglieremo ogni volta, come una delle migliori pizzerie in circolazione..un 9 1/2 a “Carpe Diem Pizzae” non glielo toglie proprio nessuno!!!
